The Gravity Vault Melville is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Instructors to join our team. If you love working with people of all ages and have a passion for climbing, this is a great opportunity to share that excitement with others. As an Instructor, you'll play a key role in creating an outstanding customer experience. Your responsibilities will include teaching climbers of all skill levels, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and helping maintain the high standards of our facility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers at the front desk, using our POS system to manage check-ins and sales.
• Provide information and support for memberships, programs, retail purchases and general inquiries both in person and over the phone.
• Lead private belay sessions, youth and adult classes, birthday parties and seasonal camp programs.
• Monitor and uphold safety standards throughout the facility for both staff and guests.
• Assist with daily cleaning and operational procedures, including opening and closing duties.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

• Evening, weekend and Holiday availability is required
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Climbing experience is a plus but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided.
• Experience working with children is strongly preferred.
• The minimum availability* for the Instructor position is as follows:
• At least one weekday closing shift (5 pm to 10:30 pm) with the ability to work a minimum of a 4 hour shift
• One full weekend day (9 am to 8:30 pm) within which you may be scheduled for up to an 8 hour shift.

 

 Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary range: $16.50/hour - $18.00 per hour - dependent on experience.
• Complimentary multi-facility Gravity Vault membership after introductory period.
